Post-operative appointments
If you undergo surgery, the necessary post-operative appointments will be scheduled. These are important appointments to monitor your recovery and avoid complications.
Types of patients
Yarra Vascular Surgeons welcomes a wide range of patients to the practice, including:
- Public patients (uninsured patients)
- Private patients (those with private health insurance)
- Self-funded patients (uninsured patients who choose to pay directly for surgery in a private hospital rather than joining the public waiting list)
- Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) patients
- WorkSafe Victoria (workers compensation) patients
- Transport Accident Commission (TAC) patients
WorkSafe Victoria and TAC patients
If your condition relates to a WorkSafe Victoria or TAC claim, please bring your claim number, your approval letter for the appointment, your insurer's details, and the name and contact details of your case manager.
Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) patients
Yarra Vascular Surgeons welcomes DVA patients. If you are a Gold Card holder, approval is straightforward. If you are a White Card holder, approval is provided only where the treatment relates to a recognised condition for which your White Card was issued. We recommend both Gold and White Card holders contact us to confirm your level of cover for the treatment you may require, so approval can be coordinated if needed.
Telehealth consultations
Telehealth may be available depending on the appointment type. Please get in touch with our team to ask about telehealth and confirm whether it is suitable for your appointment. [PRACTICE TO CONFIRM: single telehealth policy, the source document gives three different answers]
- Telehealth consultations attract our regular consultation fee.
- Full upfront payment is required for all telehealth consultations. You may wish to pay at the time of booking, or we will contact you a week before your appointment to arrange payment.
