Dr Shrikkanth (Raj) Rangarajan

Dr Shrikkanth (Raj) Rangarajan is a Melbourne based vascular surgeon and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Vascular Surgery. He completed his undergraduate studies at Monash University and trained at major centres in Melbourne (Alfred Hospital, Royal Melbourne Hospital), Brisbane (Princess Alexandra Hospital, Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital) and Auckland (Auckland City Hospital).

Raj treats the full range of venous and arterial conditions. He is proficient in current techniques for managing varicose veins and has wide experience in minimally invasive and open surgical management of aortic and peripheral arterial disease. He has a strong interest in patient safety and is an alumnus of the Academy for Emerging Leaders in Patient Safety (Sydney).

Raj also has a military and legal background. He served on overseas operations with the Australian Army, receiving the Australian Defence Medal and the Australian Service Medal, and completed a law degree, working at a health law firm before returning to full-time surgical practice.
